Rare dining set designed by Axel Einar Hjorth for Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) in the first half of the 1930s. It features as set of 4 Corall chairs and a Typenko table with two extra leafs tucked underneath the table top. The table measures 120 cm in length and the extra leafs are 50 cm a piece so maximum length is 220 cm. Width is 65 cm and height is 75 cm. All pieces in this set has the original NK labels. The present model of chairs are recorded in the archives of the Nordiska Museet in Stockholm under no. 37784 (made in 1934), and the table under no. 36753 (made in 1932). The chairs are made of Birch, Sycamore and Corall wood and they all have new black velvet upholstery. The table is made of birch with matching veneer between the table top and the sides. Two of the chairs have been professionally glued and repaired on the upper part of the backrest. They all also have a few scratch and marks. The main table top is a little bit bent on the edges but is in fully functional order. Table top has been polished. Overall good vintage condition with ware.
