Sculpture / torso of a female nude made of carved pine by Uppsala (Sweden) native artist Gösta Josefsson who was part of the Uppsala art scene in the later part of the 20th century. Josefsson are mostly known for his paintings, prints and wood cuts with motifs and scenes from Uppsala through the years but sculptures by him are very rare and to this day we do not know of another one in existence. This piece was acquired directly from the Gösta Josefsson estate through the son, Hans Josefsson, together with a group of paintings on canvas and board, all depicting female nude models. Untouched original vintage condition with light ware and patina consistent with age and use. Wood is a bit dry.
