Oak chair designed by Poul Volther in 1955 for Danish manufacturer FDB. Later light grey fabric on the seat. This chair is a very good representation of the high end 1950s Danish- and Scandinavian design that took the world by storm in the mid-century. Superb and clever design of the backrest with it's attention to details. Volther clearly took inspiration from a fellow dane Finn Juhl when he designed this. It's very reminiscent of Juhl's Egyptian chair. Very good vintage condition with minimal ware consistent with age and use.
