Very rare set of six chairs, Model O.K. designed by Axel Einar Hjorth for Nordiska Kompaniet in 1936. This model was displayed at Hjorths last exhibition he did as the head of design at the firm. The exhibition was called "Vackrare Möbler" (Beautiful furniture), and was held at Nordiska Kompaniets department store in May 1937. This is most likely the only known set of this model in existence today. The frame are produced of the very unusual Bimba wood and the present model is recorded in the archives of the Nordiska Museet in Stockholm under no. 40005. The set features new off-white upholstery and are in a very good vintage condition with ware consistent with age and use. Also note the highly unusual design element of the seat being upholstered behind the back rest.
